Developer Week (DWX) Nuremberg

Last week the Developer Week in Nuremberg was back in person! I had the honor of giving two sessions:

  • Deep Dive into Git (handout)
  • Application Security and DevSecOps – end to end (handout)

I especially enjoyed my DevSecOps talk with the small live hacking at the beginning:

But also the workshop was fun. Over all a very active audience with many questions and interactions.

Xpirit at DWX

But I was not alone – we had 6 international speakers from Xpirit giving talks. My German colleague Thomas Tomow had two talks. One was about Gated Releases with GitHub Actions and a dangerous looking hardware device:

The other one was about Azure Container Apps and Kubernetes for everyone.

Alex Thissen and Loek Duys from the Netherlands delivered a one-day workshop about Doing Kubernetes DevOps style on Monday. Additionally, Alex had a busy day on Tuesday delivering two more talks:

  • I don’t feel so well… Integrating health checks in your .NET Core solutions
  • Flagging your features – a DevOps approach to continuous release

Erwin Staal – also from the Netherlands – talked about a Database-per-tenant architecture using .NET Core and Azure SQL Database:

Last but not least German colleague Olena Borzenko talked together with her mentor Eldert Grootenboer (from Microsoft) about Impactful mentorship – 2 sides of a story.

Our booth

Xpirit had a booth and Tobias Mackenroth took good care of it. We had many interesting discussions and it is nice to realize that people start to recognize our brand and know what we are doing.

Summary

Over all it was a very successful event. It was great to be back in person and meet all the old friends. I’m looking forward to meet you again next year.
